Four months of marriage,
Life was a mirage,
We were still on our honeymoon.
Little did we know,
The consequences though,
I had conceived all too soon.
Shocked and surprised,
Happy and rejoiced,
I panicked about pregnancy!
With no water retention,
No swollen condition,
My baby took care of me.
The due date came,
But the baby remained,
So intact within my tummy.
The doctor put a knife,
And brought him to life,
There I was a mommy!
You wailed and screamed,
Hardly slept or dreamed,
Driving us insane!
Was it milk or diaper?
Colic or danger?
Phew! That was tough game!
As days went by,
You gave your first smile.
My heart melted like ice.
Your roll, your crawl,
Your stand, Your fall,
WOW! You are our precious prize!
In our arms,
You can stay,
Stay as long as you please.
You can jump away,
To run and play,
Our love will never cease.
Growing steadily,
Giggling merrily,
Today you are one year old.
In a matter of time,
You'll recite a rhyme,
And so I am told!
This fine evening,
With the world cup reigning,
We are all gathered here.
To wish you luck,
To wish you joy,
Happy Birthday dear!
